Stress that occurs because a couple isn’t earning enough money to cover expenses or desires, is often a topic of discussion among those who are having relationship problems. However, is the shortage of money really the root of what is going on or is it a symptom of something deeper? Too often, couples place more important upon the money and less importance upon communication and cooperation. Communicating with each other in a manner that promotes solutions without anger is often more beneficial and builds a stronger bond than keeping responsibilities separate and not talking about how to work through the times where money is tight. If this cannot be accomplished, there they may be deeper issues to uncover so that collaborating as a team about how to work with your income can be accomplished without resentment, fighting, arguments, or avoidance.
